YouUpload uploads videos from your device to your own YouTube account. It has no server of its own. Nothing you do in the app is sent to the developer, and the app contains no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs of any kind.
What the app stores on your device
- Videos you import. Videos you add from your photo library or from Files are copied into the app’s own storage so they can be uploaded. They stay on your device until you delete them in the app or delete the app.
- Your Google sign-in. When you sign in, Google issues the app an access token and a refresh token. These are kept in the iOS Keychain on your device. They are never transmitted anywhere except back to Google when the app refreshes your session.
What the app sends, and to whom
The only service YouUpload communicates with is Google. When you upload a video, the video file and the details you entered — title, description, tags, category and visibility — are sent directly from your device to the YouTube Data API, using the account you signed in with. The app also asks YouTube for the list of video categories so it can show them to you.
Your use of YouTube is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy and the YouTube Terms of Service.
What the developer receives
Nothing. There is no backend, no account system and no telemetry. The developer cannot see your videos, your Google account, or whether you use the app at all.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app posts one locally when an upload finishes or fails. These are generated on your device and are not sent through any server.
Removing your data
- Signing out deletes the stored tokens from the Keychain immediately.
- Deleting a video in the app removes it from your device.
- Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
- You can revoke the app’s access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Videos already uploaded live in your YouTube account and are managed there, not by this app.
Children
YouUpload is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone. Uploading to YouTube requires a Google account subject to Google’s own age requirements.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
